Oh radiant light that shines in the gray
I wonder what brought you here
I wonder how long you'll stay
For me to embrace your softness, your comfort
I'm inspired to move my conscience to a far away paradise
I'm inspired to get lost in this sweet, sweet tranquility
Don't leave me, my sweet lullaby, my precious symphony
That plays so softly, so gently
Yet moves my very being
It shakes me to the core
But so gracefully, so tenderly
It washes my torment away
When I get lost in you
When I lose myself to your innocence,
Even though your presence may be oh so brief
I will wait for you, in my chaos that abides with me
It consumes me
But I wait, so eagerly
For you to bless me again
With your gracious, merciful blanket of escape
Even though I will be gifted with you so briefly, so unexpectedly
My fear in this is only
That I should be off in another land
One not so sweet, but despairing
In my slumber, that would steal you from my grasp
And wake to see the only gift you've left behind
It is barely a fragment of your presence
I mourn, for I lost my chance to embrace you
Yet find comfort in knowing that you will visit me again
My temporary escape, yet so innocent, so pure
I will wait for you in my madness
Finding some comfort, waiting for you to appear
And wash away my tears
To wash away my isolated soul
Oh sweet lullaby, you save me
You never cease to surprise me
In how much I need you
In how much I crave your innocence
No matter how dark my soul becomes
Or how long you hide away
Until you seek to so fearlessly embrace me,
My fear is this,
That I may be far away
When you appear so graciously
That my mind is off in a horrid place
And I wake
To the fraction of your gift
Like teardrops scattered all around
For you sang to me
You offered your escape, your peace
But I was nowhere to be found
A mysterious love indeed
You go and then you leave
Thank you for your kindness
Thank you for your freedom
You cannnot stay...It's not your fault
I tried to hold you...I cannot
You have many loves,
So innocent and pure
You're adored
You're our freedom
Thank you...for your little escapes
Thank you...for comforting my broken soul
You, abundantly, wash over my broken soul
